Zitat: in 4 weeks you will be fighting with via ferrata and not with snow ... Soti, thanks a lot for your help, and for the fresh photo! LG, Michael 06-06-2010 09:58:24 pm by sotid
Zitat: What do you think about snow there in 4 weeks time ? Michael, i think, in 4 weeks you will be fighting with via ferrata and not with snow ... yesterday and today it was hot, summer is coming and so the next days will be hot too. i think in 4 weeks 90/95% of snow is gone away. most of 2000m mountains in styria will be snow-free ... i forgot. today i was on Gösseck 2.214m (Reiting) and viewed kaiserschild. See the photogr. Kind Regards, Soti 06-06-2010 09:26:53 pm by s51kq
Hi Soti,
Thanks for your report and the pictures. It looks like a lot of snow left on some areas there... Do you think that the snow will melt in 4-5 weeks ? We are planing our trip around 09.07.2010. I personally have no problem with the snow and ice (I'm alpine climber and licenced Bergfuhrer), but on our trip I will drive with some less experienced friends there. They are only ferrata climbers. Therefore I would like to see a normal summer conditions as much as possible, for them. What do you think about snow there in 4 weeks time ? Zitat: Few days ago I've already sent them same questions, but no one answered yet. We have to drive aprox. 250km to the Eisenerz area and I'm worried because of the last year report at http://www.gipfeltreffen.at/showthread.php?p=457279 Hi Michael, in may 2009, i was there few days ago. i had crampons and pick-axe with me, so alpinists should do in this season and this conditions. so i didn´t had troubles. "Klettersteig Kaiserschild" was, withal sign "closed" (i saw it too), opend! This day we where only 2 alpinists (independend). http://www.delis.at/ http://www.delis.at/berge_2009/16_kaiserschild_ks_05-09/16_kaiserschild_ks_05-09.html actual conditions i dont know, but i think, most snow was melting last weeks. Best regards, soti 06-05-2010 08:05:52 pm by Johnny
